Doodle Desk is a drawing app that runs in your browser. It is built so that your drawings and photos never leave your device. This page explains what that means in practice.

The short version

What is stored on your device

To autosave your work and remember your choices, Doodle Desk uses your browser's own storage (local storage, IndexedDB and the cache). This holds:

We cannot see or access any of this. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, or by uninstalling the app. Clearing it also deletes your unsaved painting, so export anything you want to keep first.

Photos and AI features

When you use "Photo to line art" or the other photo styles, the photo is processed by an AI model that runs inside your browser. The photo is not uploaded to us or to anyone else. The first time you use these features, the app downloads the model files from our site; after that they work offline.

Exporting and sharing

When you export a painting or timelapse video, it is saved to your device or handed to your device's share menu. Where it goes from there is up to you and the app you choose.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request information (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this to identify you. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Links to other sites

The "Buy us a coffee" link opens Ko-fi. Anything you do there, including payments, is covered by Ko-fi's own privacy policy, not this one.

Children

Doodle Desk collects no personal information from anyone, including children, so it is suitable for all ages.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
